Hill Walking, Trekking & Skiing

Tuscany for 2 holiday accommodation for two in Lunigiana

The village is surrounded by spectacular scenery, offering trekking through chestnut forests on ancient charcoal burners’ paths, or beside crystal clear mountain streams, racing down from the high Appenines.

The National Park of the Alpi Apuane offers a vast network of trails for walking or cycling - from a stroll to an energetic walk over the mountains.

This elevated region is also known as the parco cento laghi, (one hundred lakes), all accessible on foot from the ski-lift station at Prato Spila.

In winter the snow capped Apennine mountains provide excellent skiing.

The slopes at Prato Spila are located high above the Tavarone valley, just 30 minutes from Tavernelle, and offer challenging cross-country skiing, as well as downhill. Other local resorts include Cisa, Zum-zeri and Cerreto Laghi.
