Casa Rosa - Two Bedroom Cottage

Tuscany for 2 holiday accommodation for two in Lunigiana

Casa Rosa is a two bedroom village house, dating from the 17th century, set between the spectacular peaks of Pizzo d'Uccello and Mt. Garnerone, two of the highest mountains in the Apuan Alps.

Exit the front door and find the terrace, a medieval courtyard used for storing and drying chestnuts.
To the rear of the terrace is the drying house, where each October a log fire is lit and maintained for six weeks to dry the village harvest.

Take a deep breath, and look up at the 1800 metre peaks where Michelangelo travelled to find the perfect piece of Carrara marble for the statue of David; look down over the village rooftops and think of the generations who trekked each day over those mountains to mine the marble.

The village boasts three bakeries, and the aroma of baking bread fills the morning air.
